Peanut Free Kindergarten through Third Grade classes

The 2009-2010 the kindergarten through third grade classes at Lois Lenski Elementary School are designated peanut free. This is necessary because there are students in these classes with very serious life-threatening peanut allergies and anaphylaxis (severe and sometimes fatal systemic reaction).  The following measures are being implemented in the classes.

  • Parents, staff and students in the kindergarten through third grade classes are asking to refrain from sending or eating peanuts or food items containing peanuts during school.
  • Students will be monitored to ensure that there is no sharing of food.
  • Students will be monitored for washing hands before and after eating.
  • Information on safe foods and safety measures for the peanut-free classes will be provided for students, parents and staff.

Thank you for your cooperation in making these classes of the 2009-2010 school year peanut free.
